Stefanie is an Evidence Based Birth Instructor, a member of Doulas of RI and the past co-coordinator for CT's Improving Birth Rally for Change.
About me
I grew up in Eastern CT and my husband and I are raising our kids in the same community. My background and degree are in agriculture. My interest in pregnancy and birth started with animals, and I was a cow doula long before I became a human doula.
My own two pregnancies and the stark difference between my births is what ultimately guided me in the direction of educating and serving families in this capacity.
In addition to babies and critters, I'm an avid reader and a foodie. I love yoga, gardening, the beach and traveling. I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in Social Work at UConn.
Stefanie is a founding member of Connecticut Doula Collective, which was launched in 2015!
Our mission:
Promoting the doula profession as part of a holistic model of maternity care in the state of Connecticut, by supporting women and their families, nurturing collaborative relationships with maternity care providers, and educating the community about doula care.
Stefanie is a member of Birth Tribe, a doula matching service with over 30 doulas serving all of CT!
